Checking In – August 5, 2026
It’s been a while since I posted anything – video, blog, photos… I’ve been really busy.
I’ve also been reevaluating my intentions behind filming and posting. I do still fully believe that God guided me to this avenue of expression in my life. I also think that I got caught up in the hype of what it would mean if I ever “went big” on YouTube or published a best-selling book.
I want to do what God has called me to do, but I want to make sure I’m doing it to glorify Him and not to fulfill some deep-rooted desire to be “successful” in the eyes of society or my family.
I’m the daughter of a mother and father who owned their own businesses. I’m the granddaughter of a successful missionary and author. Many of my family members own their own successful businesses or have incredibly successful careers, if you judge them by today’s social standards.
And I have an inconsistent podcast, published a prayer journal that hasn’t sold a single copy, I’m working part-time in retail again, and I have a pretty useless associate’s degree. Again, if you look through the lens of the world’s standards for success and achievement.
I can say that I’m happier than I used to be when I had a “successful” career at a “respectable” company. I’m more fulfilled with my part-time job than I ever was with my full-time career. I get more done at home now than I ever did working 40+ hours a week.
But I feel the tug of more discipline and better commitment to my goals now than I did when I was posting videos every day. I want to truly be effective in the work God has called me to do. I want to have meat-and-potatoes discussions about Holy Spirit and His incredible personality. I want to ask tough questions and answer even tougher ones. I want to talk about the things that so few are talking about right now, but it’s what society really needs to hear.
I don’t know when I’ll be back in front of the camera again, but I hope it’s soon. I so thoroughly enjoyed filming and discussing the Bible, but I also know that I’m in a season of growth and development. It’s not time to share what I have again. Not yet.
Stay blessed and stay bold.
